Details:

This pipe was never installed after painting. Look closely at the pictures of inside entrance and exit muffler only light combustion deposits are to be seen. Later, when a proper aftermarket exhaust was located and installed, it rendered this item surplus.

Upon startup the paint will probably smoke and smell due to curing, so initial run-in a well ventilated area would be recommended. This pipe came from a barn-find XL600R with 5800 miles on the odometer. Overall this pipe is an amazing survivor of 30 years.

See my other listing for the muffler from this bike also. There is no apparent rust currently, but was some at the header to muffler junction before cleaning and painting. The heat shield may have some slight deformations. For sale an used, repainted, cleaned and polished exhaust header assembly complete with all hardware the Honda XL600R motorcycle.

The bike underwent a complete cosmetic restoration, including exhaust. Sold as-is.
